I've done 3 interior illustrations and a cover for Mckinsey magazine.  Middle one was for an article about future shopping, and the below about data and analytics for retailers.

This is for Julie's blog which is called Swiss Family Gallagher which is about her lovely family and nice things in Switzerland, she has been my client since 2009, it's a joy working with her as she knows exactly what she is looking for in the illustration and I really like what she likes!

This was a fun commission for the fashion reporter Teri Agins' article which is out today.  A reader asked if the jogger's pants are still fashionable to wear this year, and she has replied that they are still IN!

new style?

6/4/2016

It's been nearly 3 years I wanted to change my illustration style.  For that I need time, creative energy and chocolate...  Latter I have plenty, the first two I am starting to have a bit since a few month.
I've tried few other style which was a complete flop.   But I have a feeling this style can go somewhere.
I was looking for some inspirations and I've been digging out some old books of Klimt which I used to love, I love the way he makes all the women look very beautiful with rosy cheeks, that's where I want to go, I think.
Anyways, I'll post here soon once I get somewhere!

Japan!

I grew up next to a cherry blossom park.  The bloom is such a short moment, but when they bloom all at the same time gosh I've never found anything else more beautiful.
It has been 15 years that I haven't been back in Japan in April, I wanted to let my children see what I've always told them about so many times.
It was so very beautiful I must say, but I completely forgot that there are so many blooming people visiting to see the cherry blossoms!  It's funny how we tend to glorify the things we loved.  Anyways our children loved it, loved Japan, we had such a great fun, my parents took us to visit many places, and over all we ate so much good stuff.
On the way back to Switzerland after 3 weeks, I asked my son to describe Japan in one word, his reply without any hesitation: "Paradise!"

on 3rd March Japanese celebrate the well being of young girls.  (For me it is yet another good occasion to bake and scoff ourselves with a good fatty creamy cake! ).   It is also to celebrate the end of winter season with plum flowers, but where we live,  it was way too early for spring, outside was all very white covered with snow!

Happy 2016!
